Ritmo/DB2 is a Windows .NET 100% managed data provider for DB2 SQL access
from custom applications. Ritmo/DB2 accepts application SQL
commands via ADO.NET or directly via its object properties and methods.
It then translates these into native DB2 SQL for high-performance
and communicates with the DB2 server to access, retrieve, and update
data. Leveraging the IBM Distributed Relational Database Architecture
(DRDA) protocol standard, Ritmo/DB2 (.NET provider for DB2 or for
mainframe) uses native IBM server programs and does not require any
additional DB2 server software. Ritmo/DB2 supports all Windows
32-bit platforms including Windows 2000/NT/XP.
Ritmo/DB2 supports full SQL functionality
for maximum application performance including stored procedures
and multiple result sets. Multi-threading and re-entrancy support
ensure high performance for client applications. Ritmo/DB2 can
communicate over TCP/IP or SNA connections.
A complete set of data type mapping between
DB2 servers and .NET environments is supported and documented.
Ritmo/DB2 database schema support is
based on the ANSI SQL92 specification.
The included Ritmo/DB2 Toolbox allows
easy data source definition and diagnostics. Additionally, powerful
trace and debugging tools help troubleshoot and optimize application
performance. Developer editions can drastically cut .NET application
development time by providing developers with working C# samples that
demonstrate how to make connections, then query and update DB2 tables,
execute stored procedures and display results.
