Ritmo/i is a Windows .NET 100% managed data provider for IBM DB2 on i (iSeries, AS/400) SQL access. Ritmo/i Developer Edition is fully integrated with Visual Studio 2005, enabling developers to quickly build forms and reports that communicate with DB2 for i (iSeries, AS/400) servers to access, retrieve, and update data. Additionally, Ritmo/i integrates with Microsoft SQL Server to generate reports or import DB2 data into SQL Server. Leveraging the native IBM Optimized Database Server protocol, Ritmo/i communicates with native IBM i, i5/OS and OS/400 programs and does not require any additional DB2 server software.

For maximum application performance, Ritmo/i (.NET provider for IBM DB2 on i, i5, iSeries or AS/400) supports full SQL functionality (including stored procedures, multiple result sets, bulk inserts, and connecting pooling) as well as data compression. Multi-threading support ensures scalability for applications. Ritmo/i5 communicates over TCP/IP connections.

A complete set of data type mapping between IBM i (iSeries and AS/400) servers and .NET environments is supported and documented.

The included Ritmo/i Toolbox integrates with Visual Studio .NET and allows easy data source definition and diagnostics. Additionally, powerful trace and debugging tools help troubleshoot and optimize application performance.

Ritmo/i licensing is available for both Windows Client and Server platforms. A Developer Edition fully integrates with Visual Studio designer, and allows import of DB2 data to Microsoft SQL Server. In addition to a C# Toolkit with source code, the Developer Edition also offers integration with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. From within Reporting Services, users can select Ritmo as a data source to connect to IBM DB2 for i, and and generate reports.
