HiT JDBC/400 Overview
Welcome to HiT JDBC/400 (for IBM i, iSeries or AS/400), Windows SQL middleware
for access to IBM DB2 servers running on IBM i, iSeries and AS/400 platforms.
HiT JDBC/400 runs on any operating system running JVM 1.02 or later.
HiT JDBC/400 is 100% Pure Java Type 4 middleware and can be accessed
from JDK 1.1 and later environments to retrieve and update DB2 data.
All communication with the iSeries or AS/400 platform can also be
optionally encrypted and authenticated via SSL with HiT
SSL Server. Leveraging the IBM Optimized
Database Server (ODBS) protocol standard, HiT JDBC/400 uses native
IBM OS/400 server programs and does not require any additional software
running on the iSeries or AS/400 platform.
HiT JDBC/400 v1.4 should be used
with JDK v1.1 and earlier, and it supports JDBC 2.0.
HiT JDBC/400 v3.x should be used
with JDK 1.2 and later, and it supports both JDBC 2.0 and 3.0.
