Ritmo 100% Managed Data Provider Delivers Superior Applications

San Jose, Calif., September 17, 2003 - HiT Software today announced availability of Ritmo v2.0, its 100% managed .NET data provider for IBM DB2 access. Ritmo v2.0 allows developers to easily access DB2 databases within the Microsoft .NET framework in order to deliver applications with maximum performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Addressing these bottom-line concerns, Ritmo, with its 100% managed code, is well positioned for use by developers and System Integrators. For Windows applications operating in a pre-.NET environment, the OLE DB and ODBC transports have been and still are the best choices. For applications running in a .NET framework and requiring database access, the use of a 100% managed .NET data provider like Ritmo guarantees optimal results. With Ritmo v2.0, developers and IT managers are assured of maximum application performance.

Leveraging the standard IBM DB2 Distributed Relational Database Architecture protocol and the IBM iSeries Optimized Database Server protocol, Ritmo for DB2 and Ritmo for iSeries require no additional server software. Designed and developed with performance in mind from the ground up, the 100% managed code Ritmo allows developers to submit SQL statements that more efficiently access, retrieve, and update DB2 data. Additionally, Ritmo v2.0 delivers connection pooling, bulk data insert, and data compression to maximize performance. New data type support for BLOB/CLOB and BIGINT, as well as double-byte character set support, let applications target a larger number of users. Ritmo's integration with the Visual Studio .NET Toolbox benefits developers by offering an environment to build applications more rapidly.
