The Database Connector for Funambol v3
 

San Jose, California, October 25, 2006 - HiT Software, a leading provider of real-time data integration, data synchronization, and data access today announced the availability of Allora for Funambol, a connector that allows server side synchronization of relational data with any mobile application via Funambol v3. Funambol (www.funambol.com), the mobile open source software company recently released Funambol v3 that offers an open, cost-effective solution providing address book and calendar synchronization, and push email, for hundreds of millions of consumers with commodity cell phones, as well as helps enterprises to cut costs as more of their workforces go mobile.

The combination of the HiT Software's Allora technology and Funambol v3 allows mobile application developers to synchronize personal organizer data between mobile devices and any relational database. The benefits of AlloraDB Connector extend beyond PIM synchronization and can be used for complex client-server mobile applications like sales force automation.

Allora for Funambol takes advantage of HiT Software's Allora that enables affordable XML-to-Database data integration via a powerful mapping and transformation technology. Allora is currently deployed across industries and governmental agencies. It's being used both by developers who save time embedding Allora's simple and powerful APIs in their code, and developers or IT personnel who use Allora's easy-to-use graphical user interface to execute challenging transformations.

Funambol v3, which enables mobile carriers to deploy mobile services on commodity handsets, provides over-the-air synchronization of email, contacts, calendars, todo lists and other PIM data. It offers push email capabilities for sending, receiving and forwarding email, and allows users to open attachments, check email online and offline, and accept or decline meeting events.
